Osteopathy

What is osteopathy and how can it help you:

Osteopaths diagnose and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. We do this by looking at the structure and function of your body, using a variety of diagnostic methods. Osteopathic treatment is based on the principle that your well-being depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together. This means that as well as treating ‘the bit that hurts’ we also look at the rest of your body to determine how your postural patterns influence or maintain any problems you have.

Conditions osteopaths commonly treat:

  • Low back pain (lumbago/sciatica)
  • Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)
  • Tennis elbow/Golfer’s elbow (lateral/medial epicondylitis)
  • Hand and elbow pain
  • Neck pain and headaches
  • Hip and knee pain
  • Foot and ankle pain
  • Arthritis
  • Postural / work related pain
  • Sports injuries
